Crews on Mount Washington have been busy getting the landscape ready for the first snowfall, now that the summer season is officially over.
They have been cutting brush and grooming areas all around the mountain to make sure that trails and chairlifts are ready for when the snow comes later this fall.
Volunteers with the alpine and Nordic ski clubs have also been busy helping out with run mowing, to make sure the trails will be smooth this winter.
Crews also recently completed drainage projects on several popular runs, and new winch anchors have been installed off the Eagle Chair to help with grooming the upper mountain.
A La Nina weather system is predicted this winter, which could mean cooler temperatures, more precipitation, and more snow on local mountaintops.
