Wind warning in effect for parts of East Vancouver Island

Be ready for strong winds, as a wind warning is in effect for parts of Vancouver Island is in effect.

Environment and Climate Change Canada says a pacific frontal system is apporaching Vancouver Island, resulting in strong winds.

The winds will affect places from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River, gusting from 70 to 90 kilometers an hour over exposed coastal areas.

They say the winds may result in power outages, fallen tree branches, and loose objects being thrown.

They add the winds will develop Wednesday morning, but eventually calm down in the afternoon that day as the front weakens.
