Comox Valley RCMP are asking for your help in a hit-and-run investigation.
On their social media, police say at 5:20 p.m. on Remembrance Day, a man was riding his skateboard, passing the Gas n Go on Comox Road when he got hit by a vehicle turning left into the business.
They say the driver exited his vehicle, offering to take the man to the hospital, but ended up fleeing eastbound on the road after hearing approaching sirens.
While the skateboarder, who is 60 years old, suffered serious injuries, they are not life-threatening ones and the victim is expected to recover.
They say the suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 50s, standing at six feet tall with an average build and light brown thinning or balding hair.
The vehicle is described as a black Chrysler 200 mid-2010’s model with possibly some scratches or small dents from the crash.
Investigators ask anyone with dash-cam footage from the time of the incident to check and see if there’s any images of the vehicle.
