Second Grammy nod for Vancouver Island’s metal sensation Spiritbox

For the second year in a row, a Vancouver Island-based heavy metal band has been nominated for a Grammy.

Spiritbox, formed in Victoria in 2017, has been nominated for a Best Metal Performance award for their song Cellar Door. Last year they were nominated in the same category for their song Jaded, which is off the same EP.

The band recently toured with metal legends Korn and French metal band Gojira, which performed in the Paris Olympics opening ceremonies. Next year they will play at events and festivals across Europe, including three gigs opening for Linkin Park.

The 2025 Grammy awards will be on February 2.
