Stuff the Truck has raised 20 pallets so far on the first day

JET FM’s Stuff the Truck is now underway, and it’s been a great start.

That comes from David Reynolds, Executive Director at the Comox Valley Food Bank, who says it’s nice to see people come by to donate.

“There’s never been a better time to donate,” said Reynolds.

He says there have been a lot of people to come by and donate at Thrifty Foods on Cliffe Avenue.

For the first day, the fundraiser has so far raised 20 pallets, seven more than the number raised on the first day last year.

Reynolds says heading into the event, the bank has seen a large increase in clients.

“This time of year, we see even greater demand, so this promotion helps us get through to Spring with the funds we raise, so we can support those dealing with food insecurity,”said Reynolds.

“Last year we raised closer to 200 pallets and it’d be nice to meet or exceed this year.”
