Second annual Glacier Kings charity game tops totals of first edition

It was another huge success for the second annual Glacier Kings charity game vs RCMP and Canadian Armed Forces members.

Over $21,000 has been raised and is still being counted, topping the total of last year’s game.

Cst. Monika Terragni of the Comox Valley RCMP said the support and feedback they have received has been overwhelming and people want to see the event continue in the future.

“Our goal is not only to raise funds for vital programs right here on Vancouver Island, but also to raise awareness about this often-private struggle so many in uniform silently suffer from.”

While the game wasn’t a sellout like last year’s game, it was still near capacity and showed people in uniform who suffer from mental health issues they aren’t alone.

In total, over $40,000 has been raised in the two years of existence in the game, which is likely to become an annual tradition.

All funds from both games were donated to Wounded Warriors Canada.
