Comox Valley Airport saw over 400K passengers in 2024

Comox Valley Airport saw over 400,000 passengers served last year.

In their 2024 passenger statistics, the airport says they served a total of 402,757 passengers, an 8.3 percent increase compared to the number of passengers in 2023.

With December seeing 36,014 passengers, a 17 percent jump from December 2023, it makes 2024 the third busiest year in their history and the busiest since the pandemic.

Airport Commission CEO Mike Atkins says this increase in passenger traffic speaks to their commitment to service.

“This year saw the successful launch of a new route to Kelowna, and the continued popularity of our seasonal flights to Toronto and Puerto Vallarta,” said Atkins.

“Overall we are now 98% recovered to 2019 passenger levels — a testament to the vital link our airport represents for Vancouver Island.”

The airport also says the fourth quarter of last year was their busiest on record, seeing new heights for October and November.

For this year, they aim to continue serving their community and visitors, as well as welcoming their 7,000,000th passenger this spring.
