You can escape the cold this weekend as two warming centres will open in the Comox Valley.
The Comox Valley Regional District has announced the centres will activate as a response to the overnight low temperatures in the forecast, with lows ranging from minus two to minus four degrees.
The centres offer seating, snacks, washrooms, security, and cleaning services, but no beds will be provided. The district says while you can bring leashed or crated pets, verify with the service provider on site to confirm.
You can find the centres at Lower Native Sons Hall in Courtenay, and Buchanan Hall in Cumberland.
