Strong winds are coming to several communities on the Island and Coast.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a wind warning just before 8:50 a.m. today, saying winds at 70 kilometers per hour will gust up to 90 kilometers near the Strait of Georgia.
The winds are a result of a pacific frontal system approaching the BC coast. The weather agency says the winds will affect the Sunshine Coast from Saltery Bay to Powell River, the Southern Gulf Islands, and East Vancouver Island from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River.
The winds could lead to power outages, fallen tree branches, and injury or damage from tossed objects.

They add the winds will intensify late this morning, continuing through the afternoon before dying down by tonight.
