All four bylaws a part of the Comox Valley Regional District’s (CVRD) Unified Alternative Approval Process (AAP) are moving forward.
The CVRD Board confirmed at their February 25 meeting the Union Bay Firehall, artificial turf field, housing supports, and homelessness supports bylaws will advance after less than 10 per cent of eligible electors signed and submitted elector response forms.
CVRD Board Chair Will-Cole Hamilton said several forms were submitted against the projects, but some weren’t accepted because the resident wasn’t eligible to vote.
“Each AAP initiative covered different areas within the Comox Valley, meaning not all electors were impacted by the proposed changes.”
The AAP voting period concluded on February 18, and the results were released to the public on February 24.
Each initiative’s next steps will be provided through upcoming staff reports, project pages websites, and the regional districts five-year financial planning process.
