Meanwhile Thompson confirms numerous fishing enthusiasts have been heading to Campbell River, where one area river has been a hot spot.
Thompson says there are several key factors behind huge runs of various fisheries this summer.
Thompson says the east coast of Vancouver Island, in the Comox Valley and Campbell River areas, have been especially strong for the recreational catch, in one of the busiest boating seasons in years.
