The new president of the Comox District Teachers Association says teachers are gearing up to set up picket lines around all Comox Valley schools, starting on Wednesday. Nick Moore says Stage 3 job action is about to kick in again.
Moore did not appear to be optimistic on the chances an agreement will be struck anytime in the near future, adding the BCTF president reached out on numerous occasions over the summer to get formal bargaining sessions underway.
Goat News asked Moore about his thoughts on a call for binding arbitration.
No word on whether actual formal bargaining meetings have been nailed down, as the protracted contract dispute threatens to delay the start of the new school year, scheduled for September 2.
