What a difference a month makes!
Thanks to some recent cooperation from mother nature in coming through with a good dose of the wet stuff, things are looking up for Courtenay’s Puntledge River BC Hydro operations.
Stephen Watson speaks for the utility, and says recent heavy rainfall has saved the day when it comes to water flows and power generation.
Meanwhile Watson says river levels are strong enough to support local fisheries and has also given the green light to a highly popular paddling festival attracting enthusiasts from all over the region.
Watson says heavy snowfall at higher elevations in local mountains has substantially boosted the snowpack.
