Project Watershed is planning more work for the Comox Valley.
Spokesperson Jennifer Sutherst says they’re looking to improve the off-channel fish habitat at Simms Park in Courtenay.
She says what is in place now is a “blind channel” that doesn’t leave fish much room to move.
She notes that they would lower the elevation of the culvert and on the other side – they would connect the inner pond to a new pedestrian bridge out to the slough.

Sutherst says they’re now looking for support from Courtenay council.
