In preparation for the heavy rains, the City of Courtenay is making sandbags available for residents as of noon today. They can be picked up at the public works yard on Piercy Avenue or on Puntledge Road by the Red Cross building.
Public works is also asking residents to keep an eye on catch basins in your neighbourhood and clear the grates if they become covered with leaves or debris.
