Partial results from an Island Health radiology review that includes Campbell River are in.
Back in April, the agency announced the review of 529 cases between 2013 and 2016 done by one radiologist. The review was then expanded to all the other 1,846 CT scans, as well as 383 mammograms, and samplings of X-rays and ultrasounds done by the same person.
Of the CT scans, Island Health says they found a discrepancy rate of 15% with 25 patients needing follow-up care.
The agency says that doesn’t necessarily mean the treatment for the patients would have been changed or that they’ve had adverse health effects.

Results from the mammogram, ultrasound, and X-ray review are expected in the coming weeks.
