Ever wondered what it takes to be a firefighter? It is a dream for many youth but over the weekend a group of local media and valley politicians gathered at the Comox Firehall to learn the ropes, albeit an abbreviated version, of firefighting during a Fire Operations event.
Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner had the ragtag group of would be firefighters putting out car fires, crawling through smoke filled fire houses at the Live Fire Training Centre and prying open steel doors.
Meanwhile our very own Jet FM morning guy Dave Tymo, also took part in the media day event along with News Director Marc Mulvaney. Tymo says it was quite the experience!
The Comox Live Fire Training Centre trains firefighters from all over the North Island and Sunshine Coast Region.
