Vancouver Island North MP John Duncan was on hand at the Comox Valley Transition Society office in downtown Courtenay this afternoon, marking the completion of the ninth annual National Victims of Crime Awareness Week, or Victims Week.
Duncan officially unveiled his government’s new Canadian Victims Bill of Rights.
Meanwhile Heather Ney, Executive Director of the Comox Valley Transition Society, was also on hand for the Courtenay news conference.
Ney says her group continues with various awareness efforts, including the Purple Ribbon Campaign, adding progress is being made in the community.
