The Campbell River RCMP has released more details in the tragic ATV incident that took two people’s lives.
Officers responded to the call Sunday at Woods Creek just after 12:00pm. Three people, an adult man and two youths, were riding an ATV and had been swept into the creek.
Emergency crews responded immediately. One of the youths was pulled out of the water by a passerby.
Search crews found the second youth, deceased, downstream around 4:00pm but the search had to be called off for the adult due to darkness. The search began again Monday morning and the man’s body was found just before 9:30am.
All three people were from Campbell River but the RCMP is not releasing their names. The investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroner’s Service.
