COURTENAY B.C -A section of Cumberland Road, between Swanson Street and Slade Road will undergoing repairs later this month.
Work is expected to last three days from Monday April 23 until Wednesday April 25, between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm, weather permitting.
Once paving starts, the roadway will be subject to intermittent lane closures and single-lane alternating traffic during construction hours.
City of Courtenay Public Works is repaving the road as part of their long-range asset management project.
According to a media release from the municipal government, city workers will try to maintain public access, but they warn that “there may be times when road closures are necessary.”
The release also reminds drivers to use caution and obey traffic personnel.
