COURTENAY B.C -The City of Courtenay Public Works is flushing water mains in East Courtenay starting later this month.
Flushing is planned to begin Monday, April 23 and should last through Friday May 4th on weekdays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The work zone falls south of Ryan Road, north of Mcdonald Road, west of Lerwick Road and east of Black Road.
According to a media release from the city, during flushing hours, properties in the area may experience temporary, short-term water pressure fluctuations, along with cloudy water or discolouration.
The city advises that activities such as laundry and dishwashing should be scheduled outside of flushing hours.
To clear discoloured water, run cold water taps.
If after one hour the water still does not clear, residents can call Public Works Services for assistance at 250-338-1525, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or the after-hours emergency line at 250-334-2947.
