COURTENAY, BC – Crews will be working along Cumberland Road, starting today.
Repaving work is being done between Swanson Street and Slade Road at the City of Courtenay boundary.
Construction is anticipated to last until Wednesday, April 25. Work hours are listed at 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on the weather.
The city said that single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect during the construction hours. On-street parking may be restricted while the work is underway, and residents are being advised of noise from the construction.
During the work process, the existing pavement surface will be ground up, removed, and replaced with new asphalt. The project is part of the City of Courtenay’s long-range asset management planning. A separate paving project is planned for later this spring on 17 Street between Cliffe Avenue and MacPhee Avenue.
