COURTENAY, B.C- A chunk of the Courtenay Riverway will be closing for repaving this week.
According to a notice from the City of Courtenay, the popular trail will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday between Mansfield Drive and 31st Street, due to the work.
The trail will be inaccessible around the construction zone, and residents should plan to use other parts of the route.
“To access the trail heading south to Sandpiper Drive utilize the entrance at 31st Street,” read the city’s notice.

“To access the trail heading north park at the Mansfield Drive entrance and head towards the Airpark walkway loop.”
The route extends from Sandpiper Drive along the Courtenay shoreline, ending in the area close to the 5th Street Bridge.
