OYSTER BAY, B.C – Due to wet weather, Oyster River has rescinded their high risk activity ban.
According to a Facebook post from the Oyster River Fire Department, recent rains mean that the area can safely loosen up on some restrictions. The campfire and open burning bans remain in place.
High risk activities are defined by the province as some forestry tasks such as operating a power saw, welding or using a portable wood chipper, they also include setting off fireworks and preparing explosives.
The ban was announced early last month.
