COURTENAY, B.C. – Dogs got to cool off and end the summer season with a swim at the annual Pooch-A-Poolooza event.
It took place at the Courtenay and District Memorial Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park on September 2nd. 91 dogs hit the water, and with the fundraising event was able to gather $416 for the Comox Valley’s branch of the SPCA.
Following the swim, the pool was drained and cleaned for the winter. Woofy’s Pet Foods and the Van Isle Veterinary Hospital supported the event.
As for cat owners, Courtenay Recreation staff has confirmed that there are no plans for an annual cat swim.
