After news of Target Canada shutting down operations, Sony is following suit. The company is closing down all of the stores they have across the nation, and will be winding down operations over the next 8 weeks. Approximately 90 jobs will be affected, and so far there’s been no reason given on why the stores are closing. According to the company’s official website, there are 14 stores throughout Canada:
- Three in the Greater Vancouver Area.
- Three in the Alberta.
- Five in the Greater Toronto Area.
- One in Ottawa.
- One in Montreal.
- One in Quebec City.
Sony is encouraging customers to continue buying their products through third-party retailers, through its online store or via telephone. The company says it will reach out to previous store customers to provide details on warranties and technical support in the future.
