COMOX, B.C. – The iconic willow tree in Marina Park has now been cut down.
The tree suffered damage during the December storms. It lost a major limb and has since showed signs of deterioration.

A previous release from the Town of Comox stated that after an assessment, an arborist determined that the tree was showing sign “of maturity and in complete decline.”

The tree is believed to be 100 years old.
It is not yet known if the tree can be re-grown from the stump. The MyComoxValleyNow.com newsroom has reached out to the town for comment.
