COURTENAY, B.C- An early morning incident shut down a main road in West Courtenay today.
A heavy police presence was seen from 6:30 a.m. onwards outside of Park Place Apartments along Fitzgerald Avenue, with yellow police tape closing the road at 21st Street and 19th Street. More police tape was around a residence towards 21st Street, inside the complex.
No official information is available at this time, but chatter from nearby residents has indicated that there may have been a shooting at the apartment complex, with one person taken to hospital.
