“It helps an industry that’s been struggling.”
That’s from Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula regarding future plans for the city’s Airpark Lagoon. Council’s approved of Project Watershed’s plan to fix up the lagoon. The city will be donating the requested $25,800 dollars to the $280 thousand plus dollar project.
Jangula says it’s a positive move for the community and the fish hatchery industry.
Jangula explains that the funds are coming from the Gaming Fund Account.
For a little background on the plan, here’s Project Watershed’s Jennifer Sutherst.
