Once again, there is a silver lining to the Carihi Tyees’ season.
The Tyees took home silver from the provincial high school girls AAA volleyball championships.
The Campbell River squad fell to Vancouver’s Little Flower Academy in Saturday’s gold medal final at the Langley Events Centre.
It was a three-set provincial title win for the Angels who won by scores of 25-22,25-23, and 25-20.
This marks the second straight year that the Tyees have won silver.
LFA’s Elyse Barfoot won Most Valuable Player while Dawson Creek’s Tyler Bondaroff won Most Outstanding Libero.
The Tyees Emoni Bush (first team) and Ashton Bruining (second team) were named all-stars while Paige Davidson was an honourable mention all-star.
Carihi rolled to the provincial final by reeling off six straight wins while only dropping one set along the way at the LEC.
The Tyees beat R.A. McMath, Stellys, and Crofton House on Thursday and Salish and Duchess Park on Friday to set up a semifinal showdown with Dawson Creek.
Cahari lost their second set to Dawson Creek but was otherwise perfect in that match-up, winning 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, and 25-17.
