This weekend is the perfect time to hone in on your avalanche skills.
BC AdventureSmart is hosting Avalanche Canada’s Avalanche Awareness Days at the Mount Washington Alpine Resort.
All are welcome to drop-in from 9:30 am till 3:00 pm both tomorrow and Sunday.
The awareness days will include fun and interaction for all abilities to learn about safety in the mountain environment.
Safety challenges, avalanche beacon demonstrations, snow science information, and basic companion rescue skills refreshers are on the schedule.
Children will be able to meet heroes of rescue, as the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association will be on-site conducting avalanche rescue dog demonstrations.
Avalanche Awareness Days is hosted with support from the Comox Valley Ground Search & Rescue and Mount Washington’s Ski Patrol Association.
