Here’s a way to serenade your sweetheart while supporting a local non-profit.
The Forbidden Barbershop Singers are delivering singing telegrams across the Comox Valley on Valentine’s Day.
Group member Henry Unger said setting up a telegram is a phone call away.
“We go to people’s houses or maybe to a business or a place to work and we like to do a surprise so you can send a singing valentine,” he said. “We’ll go to that place and surprise your loved one.”
All proceeds from the singing telegrams go to L’Arche Comox Valley, a group that supports people with developmental disabilities.

Unger said it’s a win/win for everyone involved.
“It makes us feel really good,” he said. “We love to sing, and we bring some joy to the person who is receiving the singing valentine so we have fun and the person normally ends up being quite touched by the singing valentine so we love what we do.”
There are some time slots available for telegrams. If you want to arrange one, call Unger at 250-337-5166.
