Clean off your golf clubs – Campbell River’s Storey Creek Golf Club is reopening to the public.
This, after a month-long closure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club reopened the course to members only this past Wednesday.
Tee times will be available for the public starting tomorrow between 1:00pm and 7:00pm, with tee times between 9:00am and 1:00pm reserved only for members and their guests.
“It is required that all procedures with regards to physical distancing and hygiene as published by the Provincial Health Officer are followed,” the club says. “Also, anyone who is not well or is exhibiting any flu-like symptoms must refrain from coming to the club grounds.”
As the continued health and safety of its members, guests, staff and community is the club’s top priority, it’s shared some changes to its protocols for the reopening.
“The board cannot emphasize enough how important it is for each member to strictly adhere to these expectations. Failure to do so will have significant consequences to the individual or individuals involved and could result in the closing of the course again.”
The changes include no cash transactions, no walk-ons, and, unless golfers live together, only one rider per power cart.
“We are addressing the challenging circumstances that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented by adhering to the protocols set in place by the office of the Chief Medical Officer of British Columbia. It is with an abundance of caution and information communicated by the Provincial Health Office that these procedures will be implemented for the initial resumption of play,” the club adds.
Four days advance booking is now required for members, while two days advance booking is required for non-members.
At this time, the driving range will remain closed.
