It’s been a swing & a miss and a ball in the bunker out in Comox!
There’s been some complaints about golf balls flying onto Church Street from the Comox Golf Club, according to Comox Mayor Paul Ives.
Local resident Dr. James Ingrey’s property is right along the 7th tee, and says tenants he rents to don’t use the front door anymore due to fear of getting hit by flying golf balls.
Ingrey maintains he has nothing against the golf club. He says he’d like to see the club put up a higher net or fence to reduce the risk to people and their property.
Ives says council’s directed staff to write a letter to the Comox Golf Club, expressing Ingrey’s concerns. Staff will then create a report to present to council and hopefully find a solution that works for both residents and the Comox Golf Club.
