The AVICC meets this weekend.
That’s the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities.
And earlier today there was a kickoff rally protesting rising ferry fares and other hot topics surrounding BC Ferries services.
Goat News was at the rally, and caught up with one of the protesters, Carla Neal, to find out why this rally was held.
She adds how it affects smaller islands.
She says that the ferries are part of the highway system.

She touches on some potential increases in highway tolls.
The AVICC convention goes until Sunday at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay.
