The Comox Valley Regional District is recommending that you wear a mask in all of its facilities moving forward.
Jesse Kelter, spokesperson for the district’s Emergency Operations Center made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.
“Residents will be encouraged to wear a mask in our facilities as an extra layer of protection,” explains Ketler.
“Every measure we put in place to protect our community helps to minimize COVID-19 transmission. We appreciate everyone’s respect and cooperation as we move into the coming weeks and months.”
Masks will be encouraged within all open local government facilities including recreation centres.
They will not be required while participating in physical activities on the ice, in the fitness centre, or in the pool but they are encouraged when you are entering and leaving the buildings, as well areas such as hallways.
