A young Comox Valley woman needs your help. 20-year-old Tia Lawrence is suffering from a rare pineal cyst in her brain.
Unfortunately, care is not available in Canada to treat her condition.
So, Tia and her mother Ann are headed to the United States to get the necessary treatment.
Her surgery is set to take place in Texas in early May. Now it’s a pricey procedure, but there is some good news out of this. Ann Lawrence says with the new U.S. health care program, the price has been slightly reduced.

Ann says funds are still needed. Tia’s friend Brigitte Irwin is also lending a helping hand, organizing a car wash and bake sale.
