It was a 99th birthday to remember for a Cumberland senior.
On Jan. 4th, Roberta Bonora Day wrote an online post, stating that because of COVID restrictions, her mom Dot Bonora wouldn’t be able to have family on hand at Cumberland Lodge to celebrate the special occasion.
So, she asked if the community could send birthday cards to Dot, instead.
The Comox Valley School District says that not only did Cumberland Community School students write cards, a large cohort of senior students took their lunch break today to sing a very special ‘Happy Birthday’ outside the facility for Dot, staff, and fellow long-term care residents to enjoy.
