The Comox Valley School District is encouraging you and your family to get outside and spend time together this spring break.
It’s hosting a District-Wide Spring Break Mental Wellness challenge which rewards families for being together away from screens and focusing on nature, exercise and mental/physical health.
Coordinator and SD71 Outreach Counsellor Tara Ryan says the district will have a bunch of challenges for you to complete which will get you into the draw for some big prizes.
“We are encouraging families to spend quality time together off their screens, participating in all or some of the challenges we’ve laid out in our entry form, she says. “Every activity a family participates in earns you one entry into the draw between now and when the contest is finished.”
“We’ve got some big prizes ahead. We’re keeping our cards close on announcing what they are right now, but I can tell you that one involves water, one involves snow and one involves air, and all of them will be loved by the kids.”
The challenge began on Monday and runs until midnight on April 30th.
The draw for prizes will be made on May 7th to coincide with Child Youth Mental Health Day. To take part in the Mental Wellness challenge, or to submit your application form, email Tara Ryan at [email protected].
