You’re going to see and hear lots of action around the Comox Valley over the next month.
Not only are the Canadian Forces Snowbirds here for their annual training but 19 Wing is conducting its own exercises throughout May.
Exercise TAZ RUNNER is already underway and focuses on the RCAF’s Explosives Disposal Flights. 19 Wing says these units specialize in the recovery and destruction of deteriorated, damaged, or obsolete ammunition.
That means over the next few weeks, until May 28th, you’ll be seeing and hearing more military personnel near the base, HMCS Quadra via Goose Spit, and at the Seal Bay Armoury.
CFB Comox is reminding valley residents that these activities are routine military training and there is no need to report them to 19 Wing or local emergency services.
