A local businessman has launched a GoFundMe, and a long weekend street campaign, to help the Comox Valley’s homeless.
Comox Valley Dodge general manager, Carson Grant, started the GoFundMe to support two local charities he is passionate about: the Sunday Station and Comox Valley Street Outreach.

Grant says Comox Valley Dodge will match every dollar raised.
“It’s our way of doing our part to try and give back to these guys, because they’ve done so great,” he added. “And then we’re promoting our 24 hours on the street. We’re kind of walking the walk instead of just talking about it.”
Starting at 8:00am on Saturday, Grant and the staff from Comox Valley Dodge will be giving out water, coffee, food, toques, socks and warm clothing to the homeless.
You can find them at their new location, which is the Old Canadian Tire at North Island Highway and Ryan Road parking lot until 8:00am Sunday.
The Sunday Station provides those in need with food, clothing and necessities every other Sunday at the Old Train Station.
They have been in operation for almost two years and help hundreds of people each month.
The Comox Valley Street Outreach group provides peer outreach, advocacy, harm reduction, community clean up, biohazard disposal, on-the-spot naloxone training, witnesses consumption, medical advice and continued follow ups.
