The Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) raised $131,851 at their 46th Children’s Telethon broadcast Sunday.
The virtual event was held at the Sid Williams Theatre and this was the second highest amount ever raised at a CVCDA telethon.
More than $14,000 of the telethon’s total came from the silent auction.
The 50/50 raffle winner was Lindsay McQueen and she took home $2,475.
Baynes Sound Lions Club members and volunteers raised $11,806 while walking and pushing a wheelbarrow from Fanny Bay to the Sid Williams Theatre.
Over 1000 kids and their families used CVCDA services in 2020 and more will be able to receive help because of this year’s telethon.
The association’s main fundraising goal this year is to pay for the planning stages to replace the Therapy Building, which is one of their oldest buildings.
