A fire ban will be in effect within the Merville, Tsolum-Farnham and Courtenay Fire Protections Districts, effective June 1st 2015 due to the unseasonably dry weather conditions.
All fire permits issued by the Courtenay Fire Department are cancelled as of June 1st, 2015.
The fire ban includes all open fires, incinerators and machine piles. The fire ban does not include campfires in supervised campgrounds at this time.
