Dr. Jonathan Kerr has been elected as a councillor for the Town of Comox.
The position opened up when Pat McKenna stepped down to move to Nova Scotia to be closer to family.
The preliminary results show Kerr receiving 54 per cent of the vote.
The official results are expected to be announced by Wednesday.

Byelection voting closed Saturday night and the estimated voter turnout was 18.1 per cent.
