Jennifer Nelson will be the new chief financial officer (CFO) of the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) starting on Jan. 4.
Nelson will be responsible for leading the financial, accounting, contracting, insurance, procurement, asset, and management functions for the district.
She has been the City of Courtenay’s director of financial services since 2018.
“Ensuring effective financial planning and fiscal responsibility is a top priority for the CVRD,” said chief administrative officer Russell Dyson. “We are excited to have Jennifer part of our team. Our goal is to always deliver affordable top quality services to our residents.”

Nelson is also a member of the Government Finance Officers Association.
