Comox Valley Schools have announced the new Board Chair and Vice Chair for the next school year.
Michelle Waite was elected for the Board Chair position, while Susan Leslie for the Vice Chair position.
They will both serve in their respective roles until October of next year.
Janice Caton and Shannon Aldinger were declared as representative and alternate for the BC School Trustees Association (BCSTA) respectively, with Christi May Sacht and Chelsea McCannel Keene being declared as representative and alternate for the BC Public School Employers’ Association (BCPSEA).
While discussing how she looks forward to continuing the board’s progress, Michelle says that students are front and centre of everything they do.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the progress of past Boards by working closely with fellow Trustees, the Superintendent, Senior Leadership and our many amazing partner groups here in the Comox Valley,” said Waite. “Students are front and centre of everything we do, and I am committed to doing all we can to provide inclusive learning environments that support our students in achieving success.”
The next trustee elections will take place in October 2026.
