Swimming is going to be free in a couple of weeks at the Courtenay Pool in Lewis Park.
It’s part of a new initiative announced by Courtenay Recreation this week, with hopes that the project would help eliminate barriers to participation.
Free admission will be available for all ages during open, family, and length swims. It will not apply to outdoor programs that need an instructor or other staff.
The pool will be busy on weekdays from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., with it set to be more quiet after that.
