The province’s Attorney General, who’s portfolio includes emergency management, has checked out the North Island wildfire near Port Hardy, after taking a flight over the blaze.
Suzanne Anton says she is extremely impressed with the multi-pronged response to the blaze.

Firefighters continue to make progress towards containment of the wildfire–the State of Emergency in Port Hardy has now been lifted.

Mayor Hank Bood says that declaration was made mainly for disaster relief financial assistance.
