Robbery near Black Creek still under investigation, four arrested

An investigation to a robbery near Black Creek is ongoing after four people were arrested Monday morning.

Comox Valley RCMP say they got a complaint at around 10:40 for erratic driving, with one vehicle chasing another on Highway 19.

They add Campbell River and Comox Valley RCMP responded with BC Highway Patrol after the caller told them it may have been the result of an armed robbery.

The vehicle was found near Cranberry Road, and four suspects were found by Island District Emergency Response Team, police dog and air services.

“This is an excellent demonstration of multiple detachments and specialized support units working together to diffuse a dangerous situation in our community,” said Comox Valley RCMP media relations officer Cst. Monika Terragni.

RCMP thank the cooperation of the public as the highway was closed for a period of time while the search was done.
