The Port Alberni RCMP major crime unit says a male suspect has been identified in a stabbing that took place in the 5100 block of Argyle Street on Friday.
According to RCMP, officers responded to the call and located a male victim suffering from serious injuries and was transported by BCEHS to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police say several witnesses were instrumental in identifying their suspect, but they still haven’t arrested anyone in connection to the stabbing. Police add they believe the incident to be isolated and public safety is not a concern at this time.
A media release says the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
